Our guide to some of our favourite wedding stationery trends we're seeing for 2022

Now that weddings are back in full swing with a record number of wedding taking place this year, we wanted to share the current trends we're loving for the year ahead.

1: Bridgerton Inspired

With Bridgerton being so popular when it came out on Netflix, and the new series due out this month, it's no surprise that weddings are taking inspo from the hit show. With the lavish parties, the costumes, the set decor, invites based on this can be as luxurious as you want. Think hot foil, letter press, gold leaf, deckled edges, velvet ribbon, beautiful envelope liners, wax seals and more.

We love this invitation from @caboodleweddings

2: Wax Seals

Another trend we are loving at the moment are wax seals. They are great way to add that finishing touch to any invite. Whether it's on a vellum jacket, silk ribbon or to close and seal the envelopes, the possibilities are endless here. They can come in all sorts of colours and designs and can even be personalised with your initials. We love creating wax seals with maps for our destination wedding brides!

These lovely small businesses provide wax seals and also the wax and stamps if you wanted to have a go yourself:

How beautiful is this monochrome invitation finished off with a gold wax seal from @stephaniegraceuk:

3: Monochrome

Talking of monochrome, this is another trend we're loving. Monochrome can be minimalist and modern, or luxe and traditional, meaning it matches any and all wedding themes. These monochrome save the dates are finished off perfectly with wax seals and tags from @quiltypigs:

4: Environmentally friendly

Now that more and more people are more aware of the environmental issues and finding small ways to save the planet, we love that this can now be done with your wedding stationery too.

You can now easily find a lot of stationers will use recycled paper for their invites and some even print invites onto seeded paper, so there's no wastage at all.

We love our seeded paper place names, which could also double up as wedding favours too for your guests to take home and plant:

5: Celestial

We couldn't have a top 5 list and not include our love for celestial stationery! We are so happy it's here to stay for another year.

From dark and moody tones, think navy, dark green, burgundy to moon and star illustrations and shapes, we're seeing anything goes with this trend.

Our popular Verona invite fits perfectly with this trend, with the navy deckled edges and gold foiled stars. We also have crescent moon shaped place names with gold foiled stars. We're extending our colour range of these place names so watch this space! We've recently added some neutral/earthy tones to the collection (another colour trend to watch out for this year!)

We'd love to know what trends you're loving this year and if there's any you will be trying out. Let us know in the comments.
